Throughout the Environmental Resources Section of our department, goals are consistently set in place to reduce litter, educate the public of new and relevant information, increase awareness of how to recycle in Walton County, decrease pollutant discharge into stormwater infrastructure, protecting coastal dune lakes for naturally beautiful attractions, management of invasive species, protecting waterways with the Choctawhatchee Bay Estuary Coalition, preserving and deploying artificial reefs for increased attractions, and many other topics that intertwine with the work this department is involved with.

The Friends of South Walton Sea Turtles is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer organization formed in early 2015. We are dedicated to promoting Sea Turtle conservation through awareness and education in Walton County & beyond! Our mission is to help everyone understand the obstacles Sea Turtles face and what we can do to help protect our endangered and threatened marine life. The work of Keep Walton County Beautiful joins well into our mission of keeping our beaches #CleanDarkFlat for locals, visitors and our marine life!

Habitat for Humanity of Walton County is dedicated to building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership opportunities while creating stronger communities for local families. Through new home construction, neighborhood revitalization, and the Habitat ReStore, the organization also promotes sustainability by encouraging recycling, reuse, and waste reduction. This mission aligns with Keep Walton County Beautiful's commitment to environmental stewardship, community engagement, and preserving the beauty of Walton County.

Main Street DeFuniak Springs is a nonprofit organization focused on strengthening our historic downtown as the heart of the community. Through year-round events, small business support, beautification initiatives, and strategic partnerships, we work to create a vibrant, welcoming district that honors our history while encouraging sustainable growth. Our programs bring thousands of residents and visitors downtown each year while supporting local businesses and fostering civic pride.

In existence since 2008, Scenic Walton works to improve quality of life in our communities through pursuing projects and programs to landscape the gateways into our communities, achieve the undergrounding of overhead utilities, expand pedestrian and cyclist facilities, and advocate for strong aesthetic and access management guidelines throughout the county.
